OVERVIEW
Strategic reconstruction to Enhance digital presence, Improving Accessibility & Engagement
Asadi Lewis Dentistry is a contemporary dental practice that offers a wide range of services. While they had recently launched a new website and added digital signage at their clinic, they were looking to further expand their online presence and engage with potential patients through social media. This project aimed to develop a digital strategy that would improve their visibility and boost patient engagement.
I was involved in a team of four for this project during pursuing Interactive Media Management at Centennial College.
PROBLEM
Although Asadi Lewis Dentistry had a new website, their digital footprint beyond that was limited. They lacked a presence on social media and were not actively generating online reviews, which are key factors in attracting new patients. Their main objective was to increase their digital presence and build stronger connections with prospective patients through online channels.
Hence the problem definition was defined as:
How might we, as interactive media professionals, assist Asadi Lewis to attract more patients and improve online presence despite numerous competitors near their physical location?
SOLUTION
To address these needs, a comprehensive digital strategy was proposed, which included:
Symptom Checker
A tool designed to provide personalized dental health recommendations based on patient profiles.
Improved Appointment Booking
A more streamlined booking system with added educational elements to enhance the overall experience.
Enhanced Social Media Presence
A focus on building a stronger presence on platforms like Instagram, using educational and engaging content to attract and inform patients.
RESEARCH
Stakeholder Interviews
Collaborated with the key stakeholders to gain a deep understanding of the clinic's goals and current patient acquisition process.
User Interviews
Conducted interviews with potential patients in the Greater Toronto Area to better understand their expectations, needs, and pain points.
Market Research
Looked into trends in dental care and digital marketing. Key findings showed that over 80% of patients check online reviews before selecting a healthcare provider, and more than half prefer dental practices with digital booking options.
Competitive Analysis
Reviewed 17 dental practices in the region to evaluate their digital presence, focusing on how they present information, handle appointment booking, and engage with their audience.

Emily
A busy working professional and mom of two, is looking for a new dental provider. She values convenience and efficiency in all aspects of her life and usually turns to social media for fast and easy access to information.
CONCEPTUALISATION
Dicovery
Collected insights from stakeholders and patients to fully understand the landscape and the needs of the target audience.
Ideation
Developed strategies for improving the website and creating a social media presence. Conducted brainstorming sessions to outline key user flows and create initial mock-ups.
Execution
Worked with a multidisciplinary team (Project Manager, Content Strategist, UX Researcher and UX and Visual Designers) to develop a functional prototype.
DESIGN PROCESS
The design efforts focused on improving all the digital touchpoints.
Symptom Checker
Created a simple, intuitive interface that offers personalized recommendations to patients.
Appointment Booking System
Redesigned the booking process to make it more intuitive and added features to guide users through their appointments with ease.
Instagram Appearance & Strategy
Developed a content strategy for Instagram to keep patients engaged and informed with relevant, educational posts.
